Inclusive Heathenry in Minnesota
The Sjöfn Hof Kindred of Minnesota stands for the universal and inclusive practice of Norse Heathenry. As a practicing Asatru kindred in the state of Minnesota, we are dedicated to antiracist and LGBTQ+ advocacy in the Norse Pagan community. We are proud of our heritage and of our faith. We will not let the stain of white supremacy and bigotry define Asatru and the Asatruar.

As a practicing Asatru kindred in the state of Minnesota, we work to promote the spiritual and cultural advancement of all Asatruar, with a primary focus on supporting Norse Pagan parents and their children.
A Modern Approach
The Sjöfn Hof Kindred of Minnesota takes a unique approach to Asatru. We are a holistic kindred, synthesizing pre-Christian Germanic traditions across tribal and cultural associations into a modern practice with contemporary traditions and values. We are not attempting to revive the dead religion of the Vikings but rather revive pre-Christian Germanic polytheism in the context of the modern era.

How You Can Help
Conservation: Celebrating Jörðsdag
Spend Jörðsdag (Earth Day 4/22) planting trees, conserving natural resources, cleaning our parks, or making a positive impact through climate activism! This can all be done in the veneration of Jörð, Thor, the Alvar, and the Vanir.

Family and Community
Foster frith with your community. Represent Asatru as a faith welcoming of all peoples of diverse backgrounds.
If you have children, do not be afraid to share your spirituality and traditions. Our faith is heavily reliant upon our history, culture, and traditions both ancient and modern. It is important to not only believe in the gods but involve ourselves in the culture from which our spirituality is grounded. In involving ourselves to the fullest extent, in fostering frith and kinship, it is natural and good to involve our children.
Community Outreach
Investing in Youth
Young adults are the primary drivers of progress and community transformation. Consider spearheading community outreach through student programs, university student organizations, and university vendor booths.
Normalize Asatru! Help us reach young adults by showing them that Heathenry is an option amongst a variety of existing faiths. The more that people know we exist, the more that people struggling with their religion can use us as a resource in expanding their spiritual horizons.

Build Culture! Come together to create kindreds, works of art, literature, historical and philosophical treatise, rituals, prayers, music and more!
Asatru is a modern faith with many modern interpretations. Building culture on the basis of our faith and traditions, predicated on surviving accounts of pre-Christian Germanic culture, is a natural occurrence that we can support and grow. In supporting each other as an interconnected faith and community, we can foster the growth of contemporary Norse Pagan culture. In doing this we not only find individual cultural and spiritual enrichment, we strengthen our cultural impact on society around us and foster future generations of Asatruar where Norse Paganism is not only socially accepted but a widespread and common faith.

Building Community
This is the preliminary step in achieving the lifelong goal of establishing an accredited private liberal arts university for and by Norse Pagans. This dream can only be accomplished through community projects and community funding.

This is a long-term project to build an accredited, privatized Norse Pagan university. More information to come! We will be creating a platform where we can work as a community to set and achieve financial, educational, and other preliminary goals.
Building Education
This is the first step in building our university. Not only would curriculum have to be developed, a general interest in privatized Heathen higher education needs community support. This can be achieved through educational support groups, created as a means of helping Norse Pagans understand the historical and anthropological origins of our faith and traditions. By getting Heathens interested in Heathen-minded education, we bring the university closer to reality. In promoting a Heathen-minded education, it is imperative that we educate our children in this faith in order to ensure the survivability and growth of Asatru, and thereby sustain the dream and potential of this university.

We are working on a comprehensive history of Asatru (Heathen, Norse Pagan, Anglo-Saxon Heathen, and Continental Germanic Pagan) kindreds located anywhere from Europe to North America, Oceana and more! We want to know the history of your kindred and include your narratives in the first ever published book recording our legacy. Please email sjofnhofminnesota@gmail.com the following details:
- The origin and general location of your kindred
- Summarized kindred history of ritual and events
- Common kindred practices and beliefs
- Anything else you would like to add! (i.e. Bylaws, general statements)
Please keep the language professional, clean, and appropriate. Changes to wording and language use (but not content) are to be expected in order to maintain professional writing standards. PDF format and content length of 1-3 pages is preferred.
